Back in town!

I am back in Holland again after a wonderful holiday we celebrated in Italy (San Remo) and France (the lake of Annecy). With a suitcase full of memories and relaxed back in the reality of all day. As in the other suitcases a load of dirty laundry was waiting to be done…But everything is done now so I found the time to be active in blogland again! To keep hold on that holiday-feeling I made some collages of nice pictures I took. Starting with Italy with the cosy plazas, olive trees, houses with shutters and simple kitchentables where you can drink a glass and have long chats.

Houses in different colors with nice details and of course shutters…

In Italy we stayed at the Ligurian coast, also called the Flower Riviera and although Spring time is the best time to go there, I spotted some nice flowers!

These pictures I took at the Hanbury Garden, a botanic garden at sea and once founded by a rich English trader Thomas Hanbury. In the garden you can find about 4000 different tropical plants. Very special to see!

The markets in Italy and France present lots of colorful products.

When you celebrate holidays in the warm southern of Europe you have to cool down sometimes at sea and at the lake.

If the cooling down was not enough you can always go to the mountains! On our journey to Italy we did not go through the St. Gotthard but went over it! What a beautiful track, we drove along the snow and even threw some snow balls at each other. Also the Mont Blanc at Chamonix showed his imposing white tops against the blue air.

And then we spotted some extreme luxury in Monaco. You almost stumble over the Ferraris, Bugattis and Rolls Royces, extreme large yaugths and shops with expensive jewelry and clothes. So much luxury in this tax-paradise for the rich people on earth.

You also can spot the presence of the “Grimaldis” in the streets with a leading role for Princess Grace.

On our last day in France at the lake of Annecy we were treated with a time trial of the Tour the France. They drove along our camping so we went there with a chair and a filled cooling bag to watch the cyclers “flying” one by one around the lake!

It was a wonderful happening, what an ambiance!

Very special was a little street in Annecy, with pictures and articles of the history of the Tour de France. In this way the cyclists ascended the mountains in former times, with a headlamp and a tyre on their neck.

What a difference with the advanced equipment of these cyclists...

So far the impression of our holiday in "Bella Italia" and "La douce France"! I still have a few weeks off, so some time left to mess around the house, be creative and some time to blog again!
At last I offer you virtual this cup of cappuccino from Italy and hope to meet you all again on my blog after this summerbreak!

Blooming Summer!

The warm weather of the last days was not very inviting for blogging….But before I will go on holiday I want to show you some “blooming” pictures. The hydrangea “Annabelle” is blooming exuberant, they are growing in our front- and back garden. They are looking at their best now, still standing upright and looking so fresh, although they have a hard time during these hot and dry days…

The white hydrangeas on the pillars are blooming as well and also producing new buds.

And the blue hydrangeas in the front garden just looks like a blue sea of flowers!

And talking about a sea of flowers, the stepladder is covered with white flowers of the lobelia, it looks like a waterfall of white flowers and the grape is curling through the ladder.

The grape is filled with little ropes, they look so cute!

Last year I planted a clematis against the wall of ivy and to my surprise some flowers appeared!

And at last the lily’s in our pool, the white ones appeared after the pink ones and the buds and flowers come and go!

This was my last post for now, I will have a break for a few weeks to celebrate our holidays in Italy and France!

I wish you all a wonderful sunny summer(holiday), enjoy it and relax!

Tot ziens!

See you!
