A touch of summer...

Because the past few days were not so sunny I brought the summer into our house. Like these little bouquets with colorful flowers…

And for the real beach feeling I placed some shelves, the sink houses I bought at Christmas last year are like little beach-houses!

The pillars are on duty as beach poles, complete with the numbers I painted on them.

And between all those natural materials I disliked more and more the silver feet of the lamps, but to buy new feet I thought was a little bit overdone. So this was the solution, a dismountable wooden cover. My husband made it and I grounded them two times with white and grey paint. And finally I painted a text on the edge.

For a low price I have a two nice covers for my lamps, very basic and fitting to the real beach feeling. And when I have had enough of them I just remove the “covers”! They are standing in front of the window, but for the picture I placed them on this cupboard.

Laat de zomer maar komen!

Let the sunshine in!

HAVE A NICE WEEK!

"Leftovers"

What to do with the shelves that are left over from the new build shelter? Just use them again for a new project of course! And happily my husband was willing to help again….

At first I would like to make some boxes for plants, but ultimately they turned out to be pillars.

I just grounded them, so you still can see the structure of the wood and I am able to give it another color if I want so.
Out of the last two shelves some hearts were sawn, I painted them and after that planed them a little bit on the edges.

Actually six pillars are made out of the “leftovers”!
These two I gave to Erna for her birthday….

Two of them are standing in front of the window with a wreath and a crown…

And the last two are standing outside before our house, with white painted flower pots and white hydrangeas.

In this way all the wood that was left over has found a new and nice destination!

Till next time!
